Halloween

I had a really hard time getting Brycen to cooperate for any cute Halloween pics. This is the closest I came to having him raise his spider "arms". I think he had fun trick or treating, he didn't smile as I think he was too enamoured by all the costumes. However he did learn rather quickly how to take candy and put it in his bucket.

FINALLY

I think I am speaking for my parents here when I say...FINALLY!! My sister Betsy is moving out! She closed on her first house yesterday, will do some minor remodeling and then she is on her own. Secretly I don't think my parents are going to know what to do without her in the house, but I think this is a great next step in her life. Congratulations Betsy.

Pumpkin Patch

This weekend was one of our Mothers Center outings to Gust Brothers Pumpkin Farm. It is so fun there with lots of animals to feed and tons of pumpkins to choose from. It is such a great way to bring in fall!

Vacation pics

Les and I decided to go on a short trip to Chicago for our anniversary. We made a pit stop in Indiana to drop Brycen off with his grandparents. We had tons of fun while in Indiana going to 2 childrens museums, seeing family and relaxing.

Then off to Chicago for the two of us!! It was a fun time, despite being caught in the rain with no umbrella (I felt like such a tourist). We visited Lincoln Park Zoo (probably one of the best zoos I have ever been to)...I have never been so close to a gorilla before in my life! We went to Sears Tower and the Museum of Science and Industry (a kids museum for big kids)!

The last 4 years have been the best years. I am so lucky to have you in my life and I can't wait to see what the next 40 years will bring! I thank you for being my rock and my friend, I couldn't do it without you! I love you!!

Utah-Idaho-Montana

I really wish I could download all the pictures that we took on our busy 2 week vacation to Utah. Instead I will just post the ones that really outline all the great stuff we did.


We started out in Utah for a few days. Then Brycen left with my parents to go to Sun Valley. Les, Betsy and I met them up there a few days later. While there we met Nancy Kerrigan (so nice), went on a whitewater rafting trip (I fell out of the boat...not on purpose and Les loved it) and went on a 25 mile bike ride (again, not on purpose...ok well kind of :)). From there we drove 6 hrs. to my grandmas cabin on Hebgen Lake, MT. Although we were only there for a day and a half, we had a great time watching Brycen throw rocks in the lake and go on the boat. Betsy and I had fun laying out (even if some of the time was in our sweatshirts!).


It was quite the whirlwhind of a trip, but very relaxing and lots of fun!!!!

Summer Fun

It has been a very busy summer so far. We have had visits from family, visits to family, Pampered Chef trips to Chicago and lots of time swimming! Here are a few pics of what we have been up to. The top pic was taken by my good friend Whitney at the Toledo Botanical Gardens.

We are now in Utah for a visit and Brycen's Aunt Betsy bought him a life jacket swimming suit. It was so funny when he put it on. He looked like he was putting on a fat suit.

Teeth Update

So in my previous post I mentioned that Brycen had 1 tooth coming through...well I meant 5 teeth coming in! That's right, he is getting 5 teeth at the same time. The rough part is finally over and we are all sooo happy!

Finally!!

You would think by the time you are 16 months old that you would have a mouth full of teeth. Well, not our son. He only has six. That is until this past weekend when a 7th one finally broke through! I have been using the "he's teething" excuse for months now...so see Les he IS finally teething :)

Bauter visit

My parents were here this past week. We kept so busy, had nice weather and did lots in the yard (ok, my dad did lots in the yard :)) On Sunday we went to the zoo. They have opened this new childrens area that was great fun for Brycen!

The Wagon

Who knew a $10 garage sale find could provide so many hours of entertainment. He loves this thing!! It has a little door on the side and one of the seats lift up for storage and can keep him occupied for quite some time.

It's Official...Pampered Chef here I come!!!

I have decided after thinking long and hard to go back to work! I have decided to become a Pampered Chef consultant! I really like their products and I am looking forward to the flexibility, social aspect, and of course extra $$$.
My first show is this weekend in Indiana. Les's mom graciously offered to host a party for me so I am super excited! I would love to host a show for anyone (even if you are in Utah) or just help you find some great kitchen items, so please keep me in mind!! Personal website will be up and running soon.

Beach??

We have this great park called Olander Park near our house and today Brycen and I went swimming! We have been so busy during the days from playing in his "new" (garage sale find) wagon, playing at the park, swimming and music class. He is at a great age...independent, funny and loves to mimic you! This weekend we are headed to Indiana!

Good weekends

The last two weekends have been beautiful here! Les's family came to visit for Memorial Day and we spent lots of time outside in the beautiful sunshine. Thanks to everyone for all their help in the yard and thanks for the good time! This weekend was also beautiful! We spent some time in the yard and then today at the zoo. We have such a nice zoo, although Brycen seemed more interested in people watching than animal watching.

Happy Mothers Day to me!!

I got a great mothers day surprise from Brycen and Les on Saturday. When I went up to get Brycen up from his nap he was holding a pair of keys to my new Ford Edge!! I was so excited. We have been looking at crossover suv's for a while, but didn't know I would be getting one so soon. What a great surprise. Last year was a ring, this year a car...what could I possibly be getting next year :)

Nurse Betsy

Yesterday my sister Betsy graduated from the nursing program at Weber State University. She has worked so hard to get where she is and we are so proud of her and know she will continue to make an excellent nurse!

Ann Arbor Hands On Museum

Yesterday some Mothers Center moms and I went to the Hands On Childrens Museum in Ann Arbor. I think we had about as much fun as the kiddos did! The bottom pic is of Brycen with his girlfriend Reese! Tomorrow...Utah!!

He Misses me..he misses me NOT!!

Last Sunday Brycen went to visit his Grandaddy and Nana Thompson in Indiana. He has been there for almost five days now and doesn't miss us at all. He is having such a great time being entertained by Aunt Cissy and his cousin Tierra. I am sure he is being spoiled rotten.
This week was supposed to be used by me to do whatever I wanted during the day, and for Les and I to spend time together in the evenings. I was in bed sick with the flu up until yesterday, so we kind of got jipped, but this weekend will be wonderful.
Don't get me wrong, I really miss Brycen but it is much easier to be away from your baby when you know he is in good hands. Thanks Thompsons for the vacation (for me and Brycen)

Tantrums Anyone??

For the past few days we have been dealing with tantrums from Brycen. It usually happens when he is in his highchair. I am trying to decifer what it all means and how to deal with it. I guess I am having such a hard time because he is not one that usually cries or whines. I truly think he is just becoming independent, but can't express himself with words yet. He seems to go through phases with things, so hopefully this also is a "short" phase!

Utah Trip

We have had a whirlwind few weeks, with celebrating Brycen's first b-day in Indiana and then a few days later leaving to celebrate again in Utah. The weather was beautiful in Utah and we got in a few days of wonderful skiing, going to the Treehouse Museum in Ogden and meeting up with friends! Brycen had fun going on walks with Papa, swinging in the swing, and chasing my mom's poodle Billy. Thanks to everyone who came to help celebrate the 1st b-day, it was so great to get together with family.
