Happy "Belated" 4th of July

I would love to post the cute 4th of July pics of the three of us, but we woke up Thursday morning to a flooded basement. Most basements here in Toledo have sump pumps (which ours does) but ours decided to bite the dust the night of the heavy rains. Needless to say our computer was in our basement but luckily did not get damaged. It is now sitting in our dining room until the clean-up crew can come. Pics of Les cleaning the basement and the 4th will be posted soon.

We'll miss you!!

Hard at work

Nana with Brycen

Tierra with Brycen
What a fun weekend with Grand-daddy and Nana Thompson, Aunt Georgia and Cousin Tierra. Our neighborhood had a garage sale and despite the rain the people came and shopped. I think our "Buy one, get one free" was helpful. Bryen was on his best behavior (most of the time) and loved seeing his family. Tierra, we wished you lived closer so you could be our babysitter!!!

Clean bill of health

Brycen had his 4 month checkup yesterday. He weighed in at 15# 9 ozs.. and 25 " long. He is in the 50th percentile for both. He was so good, despite having to get shots (which I hated worse than he did)! The Dr. said he can try cereal, so today we'll give it a go.. I am still really struggling with letting him cry in his crib until he puts himself to sleep, but he has only cried for less than 5 minutes the last couple of tries...progress!

Music Time

Here are some pictures of Brycen today at music class. As you can see he is by far the youngest kid there, but he still has sooo much fun all the same. Our music teacher is having her second child in early July, so class will be suspended until the fall. We are going to miss our Monday morning outing and I am going to miss socializing with the nice moms that I have met. I guess Brycen will just have to settle with me singing to him!!

Happy Father's Day

Today was a really good first Father's Day for Les. We had a late breakfast (Brycen went back to sleep and we weren't going to pass up sleeping in) of waffles and just hung out around the house most of the day working in the yard and enjoying the nice weather. Les is a wonderful dad and an even better husband... We love you!!!

Movin' on up

As much as I miss Amarillo and all of our great friends there, I really think Les and I are going to like Toledo. We are close to Detroit (not the greatest city, but tons going on) and there is sooo much to do here. Yesterday we went to the Detroit Arts Festival (despite the 93 degree weather) and today I took Brycen to a music group at a coffee house. He is still too young to understand completely what is going on, but he was so alert and I think he had a really good time. I am thrilled because now he is in his crib fast asleep...mission accomplished!!

Finally...

I have decided that now is the time to start a blog. Les and I welcomed Brycen into the world on Leap Year this year. For those of you that don't know, Les and I just moved to Ohio. In fact when I say just moved, my water broke 7 hours before the movers showed up to put our stuff in our new house!! Life has been crazy, but I am loving being a mother. Brycen is already 3 months old, so this blog is being started a little late. I have really enjoyed keeping up with my old friends through their blogs and hope you will enjoy mine as well...
